score:
Bamboo had a fantastic view of the Seattle skyline and the Sound from it’s sidewalk seating. As the name implies, Bamboo has a tropical theme and decor, making it really fun on a sunny, nice day. On this sunny Thursday, the crowd was sparse, but then it was Cinco de Mayo. Zac, the bartender, says they get busier for the late happy hour then the afternoon.

score:
Broadway Grill has a big happy hour area, plenty of room for everyone you know. Nikki, the bartender, was busy, but we never waited even a second for our drinks. And she was really great about making sure we got happy hour last call. This cloudy Thursday, the bar was full, but plenty of space was available at tables. Happy hour is available throughout the restaurant, bar area and sidewalk seating. What makes the Broadway Grill so fun is the large skylights and actually trees growing. Now, who doesn’t like to drink next to a tree?

Happy hour at Chandler's has changed, after a eight month haitus. You can now enjoy excellent sushi and otherwise prepared appetizers at half price while practically sitting on top of Lake Union. Good ole Charlies, seems like it is been on Broadway since Broadway was Broadway. Once it was trendy with it's high wooden booths and stained glass, now it is just a fun place to hang and get drunk. Dragonfish is one of the hottest Seattle happy hours, especially if you like sushi. On this holiday Monday, there was little space available. It is a great place to go before or after a show at the Paramount, as the theater is right across the street. I’ve been told that Dragonfish’s proximity to the Paramount also makes it a good placet to spot celebrities. They offer eight half sushi rolls for $1.95,(recommended Pike Place roll and Bossa Nova) twelve small plates for $2.95 (recommended Thai Dungeness Crab cakes) and five regular plates for $3.95 (recommended caramel ginger chicken).

score:
Fisherman's offers a great deal on happy hour munchies, like steamed mussels and clams for $3.99 and half a Dungeness crab for $4.99, still in the shell! Happy hour food items are mostly fish and bivalves, which disappointed a fellow patron who didn’t like fish. The look on her face when I reminded her that the name of the place was the Fisherman’s told me she didn’t see the irony. Fisherman’s has only been celebrating happy hour since the beginning of the year, and on this incredibly beautiful spring Friday afternoon there was plenty of room in the bar. The view from the bar is pure Sound. This is a great place to take out of town guests and show off Seattle’s beauty. There is outdoor seating, but unfortunately happy hour specials aren’t offered there.

For over 80 years the Lockspot has been a Seattle Happy Hour hang-out and neighborhood bar. Clientele was a regular crowd that filled the bar, but there was room at tables and around the pool table. McCormick and Schmick’s has such a good Seattle happy hour, this reviewer couldn’t get in on a Friday night, so went back on a Monday. But it isn’t about the drink prices, it is about really great food at a laughable price. The décor is nice mix of Irish bar and steakhouse. The prices and the downtown location attract singles and couples alike that wisely choose not to bother cooking when food this good and this cheap is available. With linen napkins to boot! Oh, these prices are only available in the bar and you have to spend at least $1.75 on a beverage. If you can’t live with that, you’re too grumpy for public and should just stay home.

score:
Ray’s has one of the best happy hours in town. They offer great food, but that’s nothing compared to the view. Their patio practically sits on the water, and all in a smoke free environment, indoor and out. Halfway through happy hour on this cloudy Friday, the bar was full, but there were a couple of tables available on the deck. This may have something to do with the bus staff starting to pass out blankets.

Spice has been open on the corner of Fifth and Bell for about seven months. Their happy hour menu is very ethnic diverse. The common denominator being, of course, Spice. The $3.50 happy hour menu includes New Mexico chili stew, Taj Mahal sandwich, Schezuan pork dumplings, Bombay veggie fritter and Vietnamese speing rolls. Spice offers a great winter drink for happy hour--Hot Chai Infusion-$6.

Tacos Guaymas

Seattle, WA 98155

4-6pm daily

score:
On this sunny Wednesday afternoon, Tacos Guaymas had plenty of seating. With the outdoor seating and one whole wall that’s open to the outdoors, I doubt that is seldom the case. Tacos Guaymas Greenlake is one of several in and around Seattle. The food comes out fast and is very tasty. Happy hour is available in the dining room, so bring the kids.

Triple Door
216 Union Street
Seattle, WA 98101

4-6pm daily
score:
The Triple Door is fairly new to downtown, only a little over a year. On this rainy Friday night the place was busy, but not packed. The crowd is a nice mix of young professionals and clubbers, maybe waiting for the live music the Triple Door has later in the evening. Bartenders Stew and Darryl practically run into themselves making sure you have what you need, when you need it. This reviewer had the $3 grilled pork skewers--which were so good you’ll get cravings for them. Their is a aquarium so large at the Triple Door, it actually has schools of fish.

score:
Von’s is Seattle's renowned martini bar. They serve them all day every day. But the best thing about Von’s is the happy hour wheel. They spin it every half hour and a new drink special is announced. When reviewed it was a Grey Goose vodka martini for a mere $3.75. No food offered at this downtown happy hour.

score:
Wasabi Bistro is a very chic and modern Japanese restaurant and bar. Nominono (drink specials) and Tsumamimono (bar snacks) are offered in good quantity and excellent quality. The happy hour is available throughout the restaurant, making Wasabi a great place to bring the kids or turning on out of town guests to sushi. On this cloudy, Friday night there were plenty of seats available inside and out.

Watertown is in a great location, right by the Seattle Center at the base of Queen Anne Hill. They recently extended their happy hour to 11 pm and no longer offer food. The place is large and is primarily a night club, so there is always plenty of room. This is great place to go before a event at the Seattle Center.

5-6:30 pm Monday thru Saturday.
9-10 pm Friday and Saturday
score:
XO is a little hide-a-way that has been open about year. It is a great place to go if your in need for a cheesy experience. Either because you don't want to be seen or want to experience some great cheeses. XO offers some unigue French cheeses and lists them as either being goat, sheep or cow. Which may not mean much to you, but those who are lactose intolerant it makes all the difference. XO is owned by the same folks who own Maximilien's in the Market, and fine folks they are indeed. XO's happy hour is more suited to couples and small groups of friends as the happy hour specials are only available in the bar, which is a small, intimate area.
