Happy Hour Reviews

Contour

807 1st Avenue
Seattle, WA 98104

(206) 447-7704

3-8pm M-F
2-8pm Sa and Su

score:

Contour was very busy towards the end of the happy hour this sunny Friday night, and almost everyone was enjoying the happy hour menu. The provolone cheeseburger is a hot favorite, as are the calamari strips, both from the $1.95 menu. Tuesday through Saturday they have a live dj, which makes for a very night club kind of atmosphere while the sun is still shining--very sinful. Driftwood Ale $2 and wells for $3.50 are standard happy hour, but they offer other drink specials that vary. Tonight’s was $7 Mojitos and yazikazis, which is martini made with ginger vodka. Contours happy hour lasts until 8 pm making it one of the longest happy hours in town. A large silhouette of clock is projected on the wall allows you to pace your happy hour intake and looks really cool.

4:30-6:30 daily

score:

On this incredibly, beautiful Wednesday afternoon, this reviewer was the only patron. Elliott, the very nice and friendly bartender said Friday is he only day of the week that happy hour gets real busy. That is when Barry and the boys play jazz and have been doing so for about 16 years. The Latona is primarily a neighborhood tavern that gets a nice dinner crowd.

Mirabeau Room

529 Queen Anne Ave. N.
Seattle, WA

2062172800

5 to 7:30pm daily

score:

Once the home of Sorry Charlie’s, the Mirabeau room has saved the best part of the old Queen Anne haunt--Howard Bulson. Howard still plays his piano at the same spot he always did, for happy hour Monday thru Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays they have iPod happy hour, where patrons can bring in their iPods or laptops and play their own 15 minute play list. The Mirabeau Room is actually two rooms, one with a bar to belly up, and a long benched wall with tables. The other side has tall wooden bar tables and very cool red vinyl booths. This is where Howard plays and where the DJ or live music is later in the evening. With plenty of room available, the Mirabeau Room would be a great spot to meet up before a Key Arena event. All appetizers are half price during happy hour. Happy hour of the month winner December 2005.
