Happy Hour Reviews

Bamboo Bar and Grill

2806 Alki Avenue SW
Seattle, WA 98116

2069373023

3-6pm daily
10-midnight Su-Th

score:

Bamboo had a fantastic view of the Seattle skyline and the Sound from it’s sidewalk seating. As the name implies, Bamboo has a tropical theme and decor, making it really fun on a sunny, nice day. On this sunny Thursday, the crowd was sparse, but then it was Cinco de Mayo. Zac, the bartender, says they get busier for the late happy hour then the afternoon.

Seattle, WA 98116

4-6 Monday thru Friday

score:

Celtic Swell offers a beautiful view of the Sound and can be enjoyed on the outside patio. Celtic Swell is an Irish bar , and you can tell by the menu items--Tullamore Dew and soda bread and of course Harp and Guinness. On this sunny Thursday, the crowd was sparse, but then it was Cinco de Mayo. Things may have been different if this had been St. Patrick’s Day. Celtic Swill offers $1 off all drafts.

4-6:30 pm daily

score:

Daniel’s Broiler is one of Seattle’s busiest happy hours, this reviewer literally got the last seat available at the bar. On this cloudy Thursday afternoon there was still seating available on the deck. The deck has a great view of Lake Union. Daniel’s is known for it’s great food and offers cheap samples during happy hour. David, the bartender, is as sweet and fast as they come.

3-6pm and 10pm-2am daily

score:

Duke has a great view of the Sound and Seattle skyline, unfortunately happy hour is only available at the indoor bar, not on the upstairs deck. Dukes has three locations in Seattle, Greenlake, Lake Union and this one at Alki and they all have the same happy hour. On this sunny Thursday afternoon there were a few people sitting the bar, but space was available at the tables

score:

Eastlake Bar and Grill offers great happy hour. Although the bar has ample space, it was full this sunny, fall Thursday. But happy hour is offered throughtout the restaurant and outdoor deck. No smoking is allowed in the restaurant, but okay in the bar. Eastlake has a mixed crowd of neighborhood regulars sitting at the bar and young hipsters sitting at the tables.

10pm-Midnight daily

score:

Fish Club is swanky and so is the happy hour. The staff is fast, friendly and professional and the view is amazing. This is the perfect place to watch the sun go down. Fish Club offers outdoor seating, and late into the happy hour this sunny Friday evening the patio was full. Happy hour food is 50% off the regular lounge menu. This reviewer had the grilled Kobe mini burgers with bistro, or as I like to call them, kick ass fries.

Fisherman’s Restaurant and Bar

score:

Fisherman's offers a great deal on happy hour munchies, like steamed mussels and clams for $3.99 and half a Dungeness crab for $4.99, still in the shell! Happy hour food items are mostly fish and bivalves, which disappointed a fellow patron who didn’t like fish. The look on her face when I reminded her that the name of the place was the Fisherman’s told me she didn’t see the irony. Fisherman’s has only been celebrating happy hour since the beginning of the year, and on this incredibly beautiful spring Friday afternoon there was plenty of room in the bar. The view from the bar is pure Sound. This is a great place to take out of town guests and show off Seattle’s beauty. There is outdoor seating, but unfortunately happy hour specials aren’t offered there.

Go to The Islander if you want to pretend you’re on Gilligan’s Island. You can get a really good tropical cocktail served in a one of those glasses that looks like half a coconut. score:

Joey's is swank new spot where Cucina! Cucina! once lived. Just three months old, Canadian-based Joey's was pulling in a pretty good crowd this sunny, Friday evening, but there were a few of the deep, tall, comfy booths available. Although Joey's doesn't offer happy hour food specials, they do give you one tiny, incredibly yummy Ahi Tuna Taco for free. Happy hour is only available in the lounge, which is non-smoking. And men; the female staff at Joey's has brought the little black dress to a whole new level.

Maximilien’s is a rare treat, a great Pike Place Market happy hour, with a magnificent view of the Sound and West Seattle. Tucked away in a romantic corner of Pike Place Market, Maximillien’s a great place to meet a date or impress out of town guests or clients. Pike Place Bar and Grill has been serving for over 40 years with a great view of the Market and the clock. Not a stellar Seattle happy hour, but this bar has a great taste of real Seattle in the heart of touristville. The crowd is neighborhood folk and commuters stopping for beers between buses. Ray’s has one of the best happy hours in town. They offer great food, but that’s nothing compared to the view. Their patio practically sits on the water, and all in a smoke free environment, indoor and out. Halfway through happy hour on this cloudy Friday, the bar was full, but there were a couple of tables available on the deck. score:

This sunny Thursday there were few patrons at Salty’s happy hour. Which is unfortunate, because Salty’s offers the best view of the Sound and the Seattle skyline in West Seattle. And the happy hour prices are nice to look at as well. Salty’s offers some of regular menu items at discount prices, not just a few appetizers. Happy hour is offered in the cafe and patio, where kids are welcomed. During the summer months, happy hour revelers can take the Water Taxi to Alki from Seattle’s Waterfront. No reason to drive.
