Collins Pub
526 2nd Avenue
Seattle, WA 98104
(206) 623-1016
4-6pm M-F
score:
Collins Pub owner, Seth Howard, has turned an empty store front into an after work hot spot for people of all drinking ages. It is the kind of place where the suit and sweater crowd mix happily, a true Seattle Happy Hour. The Collins Pub has only been open 10 months, but come on down because they have a 20 year lease. Start with one of the 22 beers they have on tap, then after happy hour, switch to one of the 58 bottled beers they offer. No lack of choice here. No happy hour food specials offered.

Cowgirls, Inc.
421 1st Avenue S
Seattle, WA 98104

score:
Kealy, the GM and bartender, is a very fun cowgirl--jumping over the bar to fetch us stuff and squirting rowdy customers with the well gun. The bar is as big as a barn and hopping this rainy Friday night, but with plenty of room for you and your posse. The real action at Cowgirls starts at 9:00 when wanna-be cowgirls dance on the bar and customers can ride the bronco machine. Kealy says there is no nudity, which made us wonder who all those bras they got up behind the bar belong to. Pool tables available.

FX McRory's
419 Occidental Avenue
Seattle, WA 98104
(206) 623-4800
3-6pm daily
score:
Everyday FX McRory’s happy hour has a draft and speciality drink on special, and they have print outs of monthly menus of what those will be. McCory’s has 30 drafts and claims the world’s largest collection of bourbon, so anything is possible for happy hour. This rainy Friday night the crowd was sparse in the lounge. The only people at the bar were three very young and friendly young men with empty glasses, and hopefully cab rides in front of them. The bartender blamed the weather and lack of an event for the poor happy hour turn out. Which was perplexing as happy hour isn’t available at FX McCory’s during large events at Safeco and Qwest field. The low attendance could be due to Happy Hour being over at 6:00. Office workers are just getting started and it’s over-- kinda like my love life.

Ibiza
528 2nd Ave
Seattle, WA 98104
2063819090
4pm to 6 pm Monday thru Friday
score:
Ibiza shares their name with an island off Spain, and the atmosphere has a Spanish off the sea flair--ceiling to floor flowing curtians. And a bed! Right there in the middle of the room, like an elephant. During this warm, spring Friday night happy hour, the bed was simply a place for jackets and sweaters, but who knows what happens after happy hour. This reviewers favorite new martini is the pineapple drop, yumola! Ibiza is a bright spot in shady neighborhood with bartenders that refreshingly honest-with recommendations like "Don't get the house drink, it isn't very good"

Larry’s
209 1st Avenue S
Seattle, WA 98104
(206) 624-7665
3-7pm M-F
Happy hour menu 3pm until close.
score:
Larry’s has happy hour every weekday, but sometimes they have it on the weekends. Bartender’s discretion. Just look for the sidewalk sign board out front and mosey in for a really good Pioneer Square Happy Hour. Larry’s wasn’t packed this Friday night, but it was definitely happening. It is a big place to fill. If you’re lucky you can catch the band doing a sound check.

Marcus's Martini Heaven
88 Yesler Way
Seattle, WA 98104
(206) 624-3323
3-7pm M-F
score:
Marcus Martini’s Heaven is a hip, underground lounge with almost 50 different martinis, six of which were on happy hour special, and was packed to the gills this raining Friday night. The wait for a martini was about 15 minutes when our martini team arrived at 6:00, but when we returned at 6:45 there was no wait at all and we were served happy hour specials. My companion is a lemon drop expert and she said hers was good. The bartender, Steve, worked well under pressure and is very friendly. Marcus’s is unique in offering bottled beers on happy hour and have about 20 to offer.
