Kangaroo and Kiwi Pub

7305 Aurora Avenue N
Seattle, WA 98103

(206) 297-0507

3:30-6:30 M-F

score:

As the name and the graffiti in the restroom implies, this place is home away from home for Australian and New Zealanders. The air is thick with down under accents, but going against the stereotype, the Sheila next to me says she comes here because she doesn’t get bothered. The Kangaroo and Kiwi offers food, beer and even candy bars from the homeland. This sunny Wednesday evening the crowd was small, but rowdy, making us wonder how crazy it gets later in the evening.

score:

On this incredibly, beautiful Wednesday afternoon, this reviewer was the only patron. Elliott, the very nice and friendly bartender said Friday is he only day of the week that happy hour gets real busy. That is when Barry and the boys play jazz and have been doing so for about 16 years. The Latona is primarily a neighborhood tavern that gets a nice dinner crowd.

score:

The Little Red Hen is a little bit of country right in the middle of Greenlake. If your ever get the desire visit Montana, but don’t have the time, just drop by the Little Red Hen. You will get glimpse of what it is like in Glendive, MT. Primarily a country and western bar with live music every night, the happy hour is sparse, but fun this beautiful Wednesday afternoon. The bar is huge but all the happy hour crowd was hovered around the bar. Little Red Hen offers pool, pull tabs and pinball.

Luau Polynesian

Noon-6 daily

score:

At 3:00 on this beautiful sunny Wednesday afternoon, I was the only customer. Image! My friendly bartender, Alex, said that Luau doesn't get so busy at happy hour that there isn’t space available, especially on the out door patio. The food Luau for happy hour is items discounted from their regular menu. This reviewer had the Guava BBQ baby back ribs and they were killer having just the perfect amount of spice and for $5 a plate, I’ll be back. Try a key lime pie cocktail, just for the froth of it.

score:

Mona's offers tapas for Happy Hour, not hugely chaep, but hugely yummy. Mona's is great place to bring a date and do some nippling. And the drink prices are cheap! Where else can you get a great drafts like Stella, Manny's and Spaten for $3?!?!? Not many places, and we know. Patrick, the very friendly and attentive bartender, says Fridays are the busiest happy hour, but this sunny Wednesday plenty of spaces were available.

score:

On this sunny Wednesday afternoon, Tacos Guaymas had plenty of seating. With the outdoor seating and one whole wall that’s open to the outdoors, I doubt that is seldom the case. Tacos Guaymas Greenlake is one of several in and around Seattle. The food comes out fast and is very tasty. Happy hour is available in the dining room, so bring the kids.
