Bamboo Bar and Grill
2806 Alki Avenue SW
Seattle, WA 98116
2069373023
3-6pm daily
10-midnight Su-Th
score:
Bamboo had a fantastic view of the Seattle skyline and the Sound from it’s sidewalk seating. As the name implies, Bamboo has a tropical theme and decor, making it really fun on a sunny, nice day. On this sunny Thursday, the crowd was sparse, but then it was Cinco de Mayo. Zac, the bartender, says they get busier for the late happy hour then the afternoon.

score:
Beveridge has been opened just since 2002, and was previously the Full Moon. The front pub has a beautiful Brunswick bar and homey mismatched tables and chairs, and the back room has darts, pinball and allows smoking. No food is served, but you can get hot nuts!

Celtic Swell
2722 Alki Ave. SW
Seattle, WA 98116
2069327935
4-6 Monday thru Friday
score:
Celtic Swell offers a beautiful view of the Sound and can be enjoyed on the outside patio. Celtic Swell is an Irish bar , and you can tell by the menu items--Tullamore Dew and soda bread and of course Harp and Guinness. On this sunny Thursday, the crowd was sparse, but then it was Cinco de Mayo. Things may have been different if this had been St. Patrick’s Day. Celtic Swill offers $1 off all drafts.

Duke’s
2516 Alki Avenue SW
Seattle, WA 98116
(206) 937-6100
3-6pm and 10pm-2am daily
score:
Duke has a great view of the Sound and Seattle skyline, unfortunately happy hour is only available at the indoor bar, not on the upstairs deck. Dukes has three locations in Seattle, Greenlake, Lake Union and this one at Alki and they all have the same happy hour. On this sunny Thursday afternoon there were a few people sitting the bar, but space was available at the tables

Seattle, WA 98116

3pm to 7pm Monday thru Friday
score:
Legends is a good ole fashioned road house, with one of the longest happy hours around. At Legends you can enjoy pool, pull tabs and of course, many TVs with things to do with balls being viewed. This sunny hot Friday evening, the bartender was busy, but he cocktail waitress not so much.

Luna Park Cafe
2918 Sw Avalon Way
Seattle, WA 98126
2069357250
3pm to 6pm daily
score:
More diner than bar, this place is the perfect place for the happy hour clandestine meeting, if you have to bring the kids. Who'd believe this innocent, funky little cafe would offer a bitchin' happy hour. But it does, especially in the summer on their outdoor deck. Not in the mood for alcohol? They offer killer homemade shakes.

Mission

Seattle, WA 98116
206-937-3023
5pm thru 7pm daily
score:
The Mission is an upscale, Mexican restaurant in the Admiral district of West Seattle with southwestern decor. You get the feel you are walking into an old mission when you go through the front door. The Mission does not open until 5:00 so don't plan on going early and saving a table.

Salty’s on Alki
1936 Harbor Avenue SW
Seattle, WA 98126
(206) 937-1600
3-6pm M-F
score:
This sunny Thursday there were few patrons at Salty’s happy hour. Which is unfortunate, because Salty’s offers the best view of the Sound and the Seattle skyline in West Seattle. And the happy hour prices are nice to look at as well. Salty’s offers some of regular menu items at discount prices, not just a few appetizers. Happy hour is offered in the cafe and patio, where kids are welcomed. During the summer months, happy hour revelers can take the Water Taxi to Alki from Seattle’s Waterfront. No reason to drive.

West Five
4539 California Ave.
Seattle, WA 98116
206-935-1966
4pm to 6pm daily
score:
West Five is a blast from the past, with the 60's retro decor. The bar stools are yellow padded with arms. And they TWIRL! And anybody who remembers the 60's will remember the lamps along the walls, there the kind you're cool friends' parents had. On this sunny, Friday afternoon, West Five was bustling, but there was still plenty of room available at the bar and tables.
