score:

Most Rock 'n Roll venues don't bother with happy hour, but the Croc has a good one. Although it doesn't seem that Belltowners know it, no one was there. Bit of a shame, as the prices are decent, the space roomy and they have eight beers on tap. The Croc is sometimes closed on Sundays and Mondays if they don't have a band playing that night. The bartender would like y'all to know, that if the place is closed, happy hour is canceled.

score:

Del Rey is new, but it is happening on this cloudy Friday night. Most of the tables are full and the bar was as well. The cocktail waitresses boots were made for walking, and it is a good thing because they were working hard. The Del Rey has only been open a month, but has already made a name for itself in Belltown. Bartender Ryan is the very fastidious-- tossing martinis that didn’t meet his standards. That’s a good sign.

What are Belltowners thinking? No one was there to enjoy the happy hour, but they still had it. Offering sixteen happy hour food items for $3.95 and tables with linens, this is a great place to bring out of town guests for a try at Japanese crusine. The sake may not sound like a deal at $4.95, but the serving is huge.

Lava Lounge

3pm to 7pm daily

score:

Lava Lounge is a Belltown favorite - supplying Belltown with shuffleboard with a Polynesian atmosphere for over ten years. On this fall Friday the booths were all taken, but there was space at the bar. Unusual for a happy hour scene, indicating that the Lava Lounge is where friends hook up. Another unique feature of Lava Lounge's happy hour - free food! But pay attention, tonight's free tostados were quietly placed on the bar next to the video game with little fanfare. Also, beware of falling coconuts.

4pm to 7pm daily

score:

The Rendezvous is better known for music, films and plays than it is a happy hour. The bartender wasn’t very familiar with the cash register, which was really slowing down the flow. But Michael saved the day by coming on early and thirst was quenched. They had a good crowd for a Saturday, but everyone seemed to be on there way to somewhere else. No one was really sure about the happy hour food specials, so if that’s important you should call first.

score:

The Rob Roy is so trendy, it is hard to recognize from the street. People were lounging on soft comfortable chairs and sofas. The place was busy, but no one was sitting at the bar. In addition to the $3 well drinks, they offer a $1 off everything else in the house (Dom Perignon can be had for $185, Cristal for $275). Rob Roy doesn't have appetizers at happy hour, but there are all the goldfish crackers you can eat available on all the tables. The Rob Roy is great place to enjoy a martini and bite off a few fish heads.
